Checked in today to begin the program I came here to do :)
the food is great :D really, tofu, bamboo shoots, veggies, eggs, soup, etc etc. of course nothing compared with my aunt's cooking ;) speaking of which, I miss them D: family, come back into my life! you guys are so crazy. oh extended family. can't live without em :)
After dinner we had a 3 hour assembly which included playing "games" (um. doing the wave, doing chants) and icebreakers-- a.k.a. games that brought up really awkward situations like massaging random people if you lost at rock paper scissors. hm.
our uniforms this year (every year is a different colored polo shirt) are light purple! very nice light breathable microfiber which will be great for the Taiwan heat. although we have to wear pants.
my teaching-mates are awesome! there will be 6 of us at my school- Shanlin Elementary, which is north of the 2nd largest city in Taiwan, Kaohsiung (in southern Taiwan). our school has a total of 53 students this summer :) looking forward to working with them :) we are all girls, so we are also all roommates and tablemates at meals. good thing we all get along..
